Officers of the police force, stationed underground, have been arrested on allegations of targeting individuals who are opposed to the People’s Republic of China, subjecting them to persecution.

More than 20 individuals have been arrested by the FBI for their involvement in an underground police station in New York City, which is believed to have been run by the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The officers working in this operation are facing charges of using fake accounts to carry out an aggressive campaign of harassment, threats, and intimidation against Chinese dissidents residing in the United States.

The Official Statement

During February 2022, law enforcement authorities uncovered an underground police station operating in New York City’s Chinatown area. Two men from New York were initially arrested in connection with the operation, and it is believed that they were agents of the Chinese government. They were accused of carrying out illegal activities, including harassment, threats, and intimidation, against Chinese dissidents residing in America.

There Are Far More Crimes Involved

However, it has later been reported that once the individuals learned of the FBI’s investigation, they attempted to destroy any evidence that would confirm their links to Chinese officials and reveal the extent of their operation. This action suggests that the operation was definitely far more extensive than initially thought and involved a concerted effort to undermine the safety and security of Chinese dissidents in the United States.

The Distrust Towards Authorities

The arrests have highlighted worries about foreign powers’ influence in the US and raised questions about protecting the safety and rights of Chinese dissidents. The FBI has pledged to take legal action against any individuals or groups involved in illegal activities aimed at undermining US democracy and fundamental freedoms.
