One of the largest “Breaking Bad“-style amphetamine factories ever discovered in the UK was run by a criminal organization, and its leader was arrested. The narcotics were transferred by John Keet, 42, and his cronies to traffickers more than 150 miles distant.

The facility had the capacity to produce 400 kilograms of amphetamine each month, with a street value of up to £10 million and a wholesale value of £2 million. Keet, his right-hand man Keith Davis, 62, and two other colleagues, Andrew Gurney and Elliott Walker, were nonetheless apprehended after it was discovered that the lab was being managed via the encrypted chat service EncroChat.

Keet received an 18-year sentence Wednesday at Kingston Crown Court, according to Birmingham Live. According to Matt McMillan, branch commander for the National Crime Agency (NCA), John Keet was the operation’s mastermind and the architect of one of the biggest drug factories ever discovered in the UK.

The Officials Statement

“He even paid for criminal organization members to receive chemical instruction so that the medications manufactured would have the maximum potential profit margin. These narcotics, which were being distributed to other criminal organizations, fueled community exploitation, terror, and violence.”

“The NCA and its partners have protected the public by shutting down this lab and dismantling this criminal organization.” – said the authorities.
