Three years after the probe's inception, a citizen of American Rochester (Illinois) was charged with credit card fraud

According to ABC News 6, at least 200 people’s paperwork was discovered when Cassie Mae Cullen’s hotel room was searched in March 2020. Cullen is currently 50 years old.

The lady allegedly confessed to climbing into trash cans to obtain documents containing the financial and personal information of individuals and groups after being arrested, according to court records. After that, she applied for debit and credit cards using this information.

Her EBT and Mastercard cards, membership cards from numerous businesses (including airlines), identity cards, social security numbers, and 76 checks totaling $56,000 issued to other people and businesses were also confiscated during the search.

However, the materials used in the study do not explain why Cullen was the subject of such a thorough examination. The woman was on the run for the whole period after securing bail.

The incident serves as a reminder of the value of properly discarding private and financial information as well as the perils of credit card fraud and identity theft. It also serves as a reminder of the significance of swift and efficient law enforcement operations to look into and punish such crimes, as well as the necessity of raising public awareness and providing more information on how to defend against such threats.
