The NPU’s Cyber Police Department has removed a huge bot farm that was connected to more than 100 individuals. The bots were used in a variety of fraudulent activities, such as disseminating erroneous information, distributing illegal content, and disseminating Russian propaganda.
Battling Bot Farms: Ukraine Fights Misinformation and Cyber Threats Amidst Conflict
The cyber police and NPU conducted 21 searches jointly in Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, and Lvivand. They seized computer equipment, mobile phones, and other gadgets in addition to more than 250 GSM gateways and 150,000 SIM cards from different mobile providers.
The attackers employed specialized hardware and software to build hundreds of fake accounts on social media sites and disseminate content that was against Ukrainian laws and standards. Along with spreading antagonistic material, the accounts took part in false message campaigns that threatened property harm and safety. Additionally, they used internet fraud schemes and unapproved distribution of personal information.
Since the beginning of the war, Russian threat actors have launched defamation campaigns to undermine Ukraine. To accomplish their goals, they made investments in bot farms in the Ukraine.
These bot farms have previously been destroyed. Massive armies of bots that were disseminating fake material against Russia on various websites have already been removed by the cyber police and the Ukrainian Security Service. These tactics used deception to spread false information, including phony films on social media, in an effort to destabilize Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ukraine makes a lot of effort to prevent attempts at misinformation and safeguard the security and welfare of its inhabitants despite the continuous conflicts.
