Cloud service provider Leaseweb recently faced a breach in its systems. On August 22, unauthorized access was gained to the internal infrastructure, prompting the indefinite suspension of services.
Unveiling Leaseweb’s Recovery: System Restoration and Ongoing Investigation
During this time, the client portal was inaccessible. Leaseweb sent out email notifications about the incident and commenced the process of system restoration.
To delve into the matter, an external firm specializing in digital forensics was engaged to conduct an investigation.
As of now, the identity of the attackers and their motives remain undisclosed. The management has not identified any further malicious activities within their systems. No reports of data leaks or ransom demands have emerged.
Reassuringly, specialists have confirmed the complete restoration of the portal’s functionality, with all systems operating normally.
