A Russian national accused of planning fraudulent credit card transactions was awarded a $10 million bounty by the United States on Wednesday.

An indictment released by an American district court in New York accuses Kulkov Denis Gennadievich of device fraud, computer intrusion, and money laundering, according to Tech Xplore.

Kulkov, 43, is charged with developing Try2Check, a digital platform that enables carders to determine whether stolen credit card data is current, more particularly whether it’s valid at the moment of check.

Based on the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York report, Try2Check has been a substantial driver of the trading of compromised credit card data, as it handles at least tens of millions of card numbers yearly.

What is actually Try2Check?

Try2Check is a website that offers online tools for people and companies to verify the accuracy of credit card numbers and other financial information. Users of the portal may check whether a credit card number is current, find out who issued the card, and see whether the card has ever been reported stolen or used fraudulently. Additionally, Try2Check provides BIN (Bank Identification Number) database searches and credit card generators. It’s important to keep in mind that using these tools for fraudulent activities like credit card fraud is against the law and can have serious legal repercussions.

It reported the US and partners in Austria and Germany had to work together for a long time to take the criminal platform Try2Check’s websites off the Web.

According to the indictment, Kulkov allegedly developed the Try2Check platform in 2005 and made it the main tool for trading stolen credit cards unlawfully.
