As reported by local media, a 13-year-old New Jersey student ended up in the hospital previously this month after taking part in “Benadryl challenge” on TikTok. The trend that originally appeared on the internet years ago, urges individuals to take many more Benadryl tablets than is suggested in order to suffer delusions.
According to the mom of the receiving treatment New Jersey youngster, her kid “was curled in a fetal position on the floor, eyes dilated, like staring into space, couldn’t move, couldn’t walk” following performing the challenge. Authorities took the youngster to Riverview Hospital after he ingested an unknown amount of Benadryl tablets while the parents were away.

The trend lately took the life of 13-year-old kid named Jacob Stevens, based on words of the father, Justin Stevens. The mother advocates that it’s extremely important to raise the awareness of the dangerous platform and the medication to prevent other tragic cases with minors.

TikTok replied that the platform rigorously prohibits and removes anything that encourages risky conduct, with the community’s protection as a top concern. They added that it`s the first time they see such a trend and that they have been taking measures to shut down any suspicious behavior.
