DuckDuckGo, the renowned search engine, has launched its dedicated web browser for Windows, making the beta version accessible to all users for unrestricted downloading.

The DuckDuckGo web browser prioritizes user protection by safeguarding against third-party tracking, targeted advertising, search logging, and profiling. It comes equipped with default security features to ensure a secure browsing experience.

Initially introduced for macOS devices in October last year, the Windows version of the browser has finally arrived after almost nine months of development, boasting a significantly reduced number of bugs compared to its Apple counterpart. While the beta testing phase provided valuable insights, further progress is still underway towards the final release.

DuckDuckGo for Windows: A Fast, Private, and Data-Efficient Browser in Public Beta

According to the company, their desktop browser for Windows has officially entered the public beta stage, eliminating the need for invite codes or waiting lists. It is designed to be a fast and lightweight browser that enhances internet privacy and reduces clutter.

The developers proudly state that DuckDuckGo for Windows already incorporates nearly all the privacy protections and everyday features users have come to trust in their iOS, Mac, and Android browsers. They assure users that with each passing day, the browser is moving closer to achieving feature parity with other popular browsers.

Representatives from DuckDuckGo highlight that the browser’s comprehensive privacy protections and multi-level tracker blockers contribute to consuming approximately 60 percent less data compared to Chrome, potentially resulting in faster web browsing experiences.

The development team plans to introduce plug-in support in future browser versions to enhance functionality. However, even at this stage, users can benefit from the built-in password manager for efficient credential management.

The DuckDuckGo browser for Windows is readily available for download on the official website. It is compatible with various versions of the Windows operating system, starting from the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 2004).

As a reminder, the browser is currently in beta testing, and users may encounter minor stability or performance issues, which are expected and acceptable during this phase.
