Due to the FBI’s suspension of Alphabay, Wayne Withers of Blackpool, who intended to transport narcotics weekly, only succeeded in moving four grams. He discussed importing cocaine from Brazil with “Machismo” as “Seasiders,” obtained 4g in a “test purchase,” and set a goal of 10kg/month. He requested a kilo, but Machismo was unable to fill it. Withers was sentenced to two years and eight months in jail for importing drugs.
What is Known About the Criminal
Instructed by Machismo, Withers aimed to resolve payment issues by disputing an order through Alphabay. Bitcoin was agreed upon for payment. After repeated shipment setbacks, Withers messaged Machismo and ‘Big Muscles’, demanding a shipping tracking code for a $6k order. He asked for delivery to his shop under the name G Wilcox. However, US authorities intervened, and there’s no evidence the order was shipped.
Found Substance
Lancashire Police searched Withers’ home on March 9, 2021, confiscating encrypted iPhones and laptops with TOR browsers. Withers claimed minimal access to the dark web. Withers imported only 4g of drugs despite discussions of larger quantities. He had used cocaine but ceased around a year ago.
