Police checked a car as it departed a ferry station at the West Bank Road at around 22:30 BST, discovering the narcotics.
Following a second search of a home on the Donegall Road in south Belfast, a minor amount of suspected Class A narcotics were also found.
Two guys, 40 and 41 years old, were detained and charged afterwards.
The policing operation included police from Belfast Harbour Police, the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Dog Unit, and the Belfast Auto Crime Team.
The allegedly illegal substances were removed for additional forensic investigation.
‘Drugs scourge’
According to Det Insp. Conor Sweeney, the police is “dedicated to fighting the scourge of drugs in our society.”
In relation to the drug trade, he added, “We are going to carefully monitor and conduct searches.”
These highly hazardous substances are just destroying lives and enriching organized crime’s coffers through sales, supplies, and usage.
“We will try to identify them, apprehend them, and bring them before the courts. Anyone tempted to get engaged in illicit substances should be under no illusions.”
The two males, who are facing drug-related charges, are scheduled to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on June 2nd.
