The driver of a black vehicle stopped at Parkland Drive near Thomas Drive was subjected to an alcohol screening. In the car, there was just one other individual.
The screening resulted in a warning reading, which leads in an instant suspension of the driver’s license and a seven-day car seizure.
How Authorities Discovered a Package
The car was inspected before it was impounded, and officers discovered a backpack carrying what was thought to be a considerable number of illicit substances, according to an RCMP announcement issued Wednesday.
What Drugs Were Found
The contents were validated by lab findings, which included: $2,540 cash, about 548 grams of fentanyl mixed with bromazolam with an estimated street value of $109,600.
Also there were about 79 grams of cocaine with a market price of $7,900 and nearly 384 grams methamphetamine with a street value of $38,400.
Both the passenger and the driver were detained. Sebastian Gillett-Smith, 21, and Brandon Prechner, 21, have both been charged with three counts of possession with the intent to traffic a controlled drug.
