US Attorney Jane E. Young reports that a Rochester woman received a prison term on May 12th in federal court for conspiring to sell fentanyl and methamphetamine in New Hampshire.

Judge Joseph N. Laplante of the US District Court handed down a 60-month jail term to Jennelle Brown, 38. Brown pled guilty to distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl in a conspiracy on January 18th, 2023. Bradford Sargent, a co-defendant of Brown who also entered a guilty plea to conspiring to supply fentanyl and methamphetamine, will be imprisoned on July 6th, 2023.

Here’s what US Attorney Jane E. Young said about it:

“Today’s imprisonment conveys a signal to the offender and other drug traffickers that such unlawful activities will be punished and result in lengthy periods of incarceration. Those drugs were prevented from entering the community through the outstanding cooperation of federal and local law enforcement.”

From their hotel room in Portsmouth, Brown and Sargent frequently sold narcotics. Large sums of cash, narcotics, and drug ledgers were found when police authorities raided their chamber. More cash and narcotics were found after searches of two vehicles, lockers, and storage facilities. Over 130 thousand dollars, 1.3 kilos of fentanyl, over 650 grams of methamphetamine, and lesser quantities of cocaine were all seized by police authorities.

The inquiry was overseen by the Federal Bureau of inquiry and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office. The Drug Enforcement Administration and Strafford County Sheriff’s Office both contributed significantly. Alexander S. Chen and Jarad E. Hodes, two assistant US attorneys, handled the prosecution of the case.
